Sunitha Nishanth (1981, Kerala-India) is enthusiastic about art. She completed her schooling and graduation in Dubai, UAE, and was awarded first place in the inter-school painting competition for her detailed landscape painting. Additionally, she received honorable mentions at competitions for her intricate pencil drawings. Moreover, she was awarded first place in the inter-school art competition for a ship painting. Overall, she has been highly commended for her artistic talent and creativity.
From school days bright academics, coupled with passion towards painting, pulled her to the divine field of art. Grand achievements in numerous drawing competitions from her teenage, had motivated her to spread her wings in the field. Her creativity leads her towards achieving outstanding features of realism attained world wide recognitions.
Sunitha is a keen learner. She always looks for dramatic and exaggerated lighting. She believes that ‘powerful lighting and shadows can make a painting truly exceptional.’ The grand motivation by her family and spiritual beliefs play a vital role in her art career. She wishes to widen her vision in realistic art, and endeavors to discover her own pictorial language while painting in a realistic way.
An artist is a mediator between one’s illustrations and the canvas. There is a crystal-clear rapport that comprises the visuals of an artist and thought process that forms out an ultimate artwork. Not only an importance lies in the proficiency of an artist but its thought process should be well-appreciated as well. In fact, the soul of an exhibit is to demonstrate the intangible presence of an artist.
I am of the opinion that if transition of lifestyle and contemporary world reflect in the creation, the aesthetic values of the artwork will be surely enhanced. I believe though creativity is inherent, significance of self-study & understanding basic ideology in presentation should also equally be focused. Hence in the flow of creativity, one should not overlook the basic principles of an art since classical study is a concrete base of any creature.
I strive to translate the visual in my own pictorial language while presenting realism rather than absolute imitation. Impressionism of 18th century inspires me and obviously my pictorial fluency tends towards illustrating magic of light & shadows.
